Regina’s Grocery is currently looking for a Line Cook to join our team. This new role is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of various prepared foods such as meatballs, deli meats and cheese, soups, sauces among other items. SCHEDULE: 8 - 10 hour shift Tasks/Responsibilities Prepare food items for delivery/ in-house orders Ensure all products meet standards of quality, quantity, freshness, and presentation Monitor food levels and replenish items in a timely manner Ensure proper dating, labeling, rotation (i.e. FIFO), and storage of products Maintain clean and organized work stations and surrounding areas Maintain safety, cleanliness and display standards in compliance with policies and food safety handling procedures. Provide exceptional customer service Other reasonably assigned duties as per business needs Requirements: Must be extremely comfortable and confident handling a deli slicer 1+ year experience working in a kitchen or food service preparation role Understanding of cooking temperatures and techniques such as frying; proper food safety, and/or related professional kitchen experience desired, deli slicer Ability to work in a high-volume, fast paced environment Excellent customer service skills and a professional demeanor Ability to visually examine products for quality/freshness and execute product batches per Regina’s standards/recipes Ability to work both independently as well as with a team A passion for real, good food and the leadership skills to help operate a scratched base, ever changing kitchen Effective communication/interpersonal skills and ability to take direction Willingness and ability to learn about our products Your Department of Health and/or ServSafe certification preferred Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing for extended periods of time, kneeling, stooping, using stairs, able to lift, carry, push and pull weighted items Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour plus tips Shift: 10 hour shift 8 hour shift Morning shift Evening shift Weekly day range: Monday to Friday, Weekends Work Location: In person We are doing open call. Please come in anytime between 10am and 4pm to 27 Orchard st, or 300 e. 88th st. Both locations in Manhattan. No confirmation needed.
