Summary of Position: This position is responsible for providing food and beverage service to hotel guests and the general cleanliness during the banquet function. He/she is required to provide courteous, efficient service to the guests in conformance with the Preferred Hotel Standards. This individual is required to acknowledge all patrons appropriately in passing and assist them with any special needs they may require. Key Responsibilities: o Coordinates with Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Catering, and Banquet Captain regarding assigned duties o Coordinates with other Banquet Table Attendants to assure guests are provided with superior service o Coordinates with Banquet Bartenders to provide guests with cocktails o Coordinates with BEC and Kitchen staff regarding set-up requirements for catering functions o Coordinates with Catering office to provide for late changes and assure customer satisfaction o Coordinates with the Security department regarding safety and security procedures o Secures banquet rooms, always supplies and equipment o Serves food & beverages and assists with any special needs (i.e., supplying music, adjust lights, room temperature, etc.) required for guests o Provide for receipt of payment, either by obtaining customer signature on check or by accepting direct payment o Maintains a good working relationship with all departments within the hotel o Exhibit good personal hygiene habits o Available and prepared to work scheduled shifts and some irregular hours o Other duties as assigned Minimum Education o High School diploma or equivalent Minimum Experience o Prefer 1-year table attendant experience in a restaurant o TAPs Card certification o Anchorage Municipality Food Handler’s Card certification Skills/Abilities o Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills o Demonstrates integrity, honesty, and a cooperative attitude o Professional appearance and a polite, positive demeanor o Excellent reasoning and problem-solving abilities o Strong teamwork skills and a genuine desire to serve people o Ability to work quickly and safely under pressure required Benefits o Competitive salary plus tips o Eligible employees can have access to comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, and dental o Eligible employees can have access to a pension fund after a year o Eligible employees can be provided with a uniform o 401(k) retirement savings plan to secure your future o Opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the hotel o Work in a supportive and dynamic environment that fosters professional and personal development Application Process Interested candidates can apply online or apply in person at the Hotel Captain Cook HR office.
