We are seeking teachers with recent middle or high school classroom experience in Southern California to join our team at both of our locations. This is a highly professional and supportive environment where you would work closely with the CEO and a team of 2-5 other experienced teachers to serve in a dynamic after-school small-group setting. It's a lively, diverse learning community for students in 4th-12th grades. As a teacher, you'll continue to grow pedagogically and professionally as you serve students one-on-one and in small groups, at our center. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES Perform moderately complex repair and maintenance on tools and equipment. Repair and maintenance of a wide range of shop equipment, parts, and tools. Repair and maintenance of electronic equipment used in classroom studios, labs, or other instructional-related facility. Adjust, calibrate, and assure proper operation of tools and equipment used in assigned area; configure and/or repair computer hardware and install and upgrade various software programs. Check out tools, equipment, and supplies to students in an assigned area. Operate specialized hand and power tools and equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with supervisor and provide input during budget preparation including making projections regarding tool and equipment needs for the year. Set up labs for classroom work, assist students with operation of tools and equipment while in the lab, and monitor the labs for safety hazards. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. Three (3) years of experience with the operation and repair of equipment and tools in specialty area. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Able to operate CNC, Lathes, Mills and 3D printers in a shop environment. Electrical knowledge and ability to read schematics. Knowledge of machine shop equipment and tools. Experience in High Voltage systems such as 480/240 VAC 3 Phase systems. MONDAYS: Job requires taking direction from lead instructor, having classroom control of children and having some basic knowledge of chess. Class curriculum needs to be taught, if little experience in chess lead instructor will direct and you will be required to learn the lesson plans. We provide snacks so there will be breaks in the class. We also do some creative chess art and puzzles keeping students from being bored playing chess all throughout the program. For the serious, advanced chess students we will be using game clocks and the lead instructor will take charge of that program. MUST LIKE CHILDREN! Kinder - 5th grade. MUST BE WELL GROOMED!
