Flexible Scheduling Career Path: Promotion to management positions from within the organization Job Responsibilities: A Teacher will work in the program supervising aides and volunteers. Responsibilities include assisting the Lead Teacher or Site Director in maintaining a safe and developmentally appropriate classroom environment, implementing a fun and engaging curriculum, and fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and the school community. Required Qualifications: Pass a YMCA Background Check 20 credit hours in Education or related field or at least 1 year of experience in a licensed child care/school facility. Meet all teacher standards as dictated by the state Child Care Division. Current enrollment in the Oregon State Childcare Registry or ability to enroll prior to employment. Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days. Current Food Handlers certification or ability to obtain within 30 days. At least 18 years of age

Assists in all activities related to the operation of the Carter Day Care Center, to include child supervision, hygiene related needs, parental interaction, and other functions as assigned. Requirements Essential Duties: 1. Exhibits regular and punctual attendance. 2. Provides appropriate child supervision, in accordance with Carter Daycare program guidelines. Assures child safety and appropriate hygiene. 3. Provides age-appropriate lessons, recreation and learning experiences for children in care. 4. Assists with meals and snacks as assigned. 5. Assists with documentation, record-keeping and audits as assigned. 6. Communicates in a thorough and timely manner with parents regarding day care child/children’s progress, behavior, needs and related information. 7. Assists in procuring and maintaining physical resources. 8. Exhibits appropriate interaction with day care children and Boys Ranch residents. JOB SPECIFICATIONS 1. A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required. 2. A minimum of 1 year childcare preferred, preferably in a licensed facility. 3. Must possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills. 4. Must be at least 18 years of age. 5. Must possess a valid driver’s license. 6. Must be available for travel as needed. 7. Bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing/pulling, prolonged sitting/standing.
