Trexquant is a growing systematic fund at the forefront of quantitative finance, with a core team of highly accomplished researchers and engineers. To keep pace with our expanding global trading operations, we are seeking a highly motivated and technically rigorous Data Platform Engineer to help modernize our foundational data infrastructure. As a Data Platform Engineer, you will be at the center of building the systems that ensure the quality, reliability, and discoverability of mission-critical data. Your work will directly impact the data operators and downstream consumers by creating robust tools, monitoring, and workflows that ensure accuracy, validity, and timeliness of data across the firm. Responsibilities Architect and maintain core components of the Data Platform with a strong focus on reliability and scalability. Build and maintain tools to manage data feeds, monitor validity, and ensure data timeliness. Design and implement event-based data orchestration pipelines. Evaluate and integrate data quality and observability tools via POCs and MVPs. Stand up a data catalog system to improve data discoverability and lineage tracking. Collaborate closely with infrastructure teams to support operational excellence and platform uptime. Write and maintain data quality checks to validate real-time and batch data. Validate incoming real-time data using custom Python-based validators. Ensure low-level data correctness and integrity, especially in high-precision environments. Build robust and extensible systems that will be used by data operators to ensure the health of our data ecosystem. Own the foundational systems used by analysts and engineers alike to trust and explore our datasets. Requirements A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python in a data engineering or backend development context Experience with distributed data systems (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Airflow). Proven experience running POCs, evaluating data quality and data platform tools. Demonstrated interest and experience in low-level data reliability, correctness, and observability. Familiarity with systems-level thinking and the principles of data operations in production. Background in high-performance computing or real-time data processing is a plus. USCG Licensed Assistant Engineer

Assistant Engineers work under the direction, guidance, and training of the Chief Engineer to assist in operation, maintenance and repair the vessel’s operating systems: diesel engines, generators, refrigeration, electrical and hydraulic equipment, water making and sanitary equipment, deck machinery, factory equipment, pumps, cooling, and conveyor systems during the portion of their shift scheduled in the engine room. Assistant engineers, under the direction of the Chief Engineer, may maintain the engine room and other logs as required by the company or other agencies. Assistant Engineers also assist in fueling the vessel and transferring fuel onboard. Essential Duties Assistant Engineers must be able to: Work under the direction, guidance, and training of the chief engineer. Assist in operation, maintenance, and repair of the vessel’s operating systems: diesel engines, generators, refrigeration, electrical and hydraulic equipment, water making and sanitary equipment, deck machinery and fish hauling equipment, factory equipment, pumps, cooling, and conveyor systems. Perform work assignments under the direction of the chief engineer. Assist in transfer bulk petroleum products. Maintain an inventory control system. Under oversight of the chief engineer, prepare department records and reports as required by the company, USCG, OSHA and other agencies. Oversee a safety program. Ensure all engineering crew are trained and fully cognizant of the job hazards. Ensure LOCK OUT-TAGS PLUS procedures are communicated, followed, and enforced. Resolve technical problems as they occur. Give specific directions in the case of an emergency. Work Schedule Assistant engineers work at least 13 hours per day, 7 days per week. Work hours may be extended as necessary which may result in uneven shifts and sleep patterns. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, employees and the vessel will be operating in extremely remote and austere locations; often days away from land or dock facilities. While performing the duties of this job, employees are expected to wear protective clothing and equipment such as rain gear (pants and sleeves), gloves, rubber boots, noise suppression devices, and use as required: hardhat, safety goggles, fire extinguisher, respirator, life preserver and survival suit. Employees will be exposed to various species of fish; wet, humid and freezing conditions; fish processing equipment such as headers, movable and stationary conveyor systems, knives, hoists, pressure washers, cleaning chemicals, shovels, buckets, baskets and aluminum pans. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees work onboard a vessel in the ocean which by nature produces varying degrees of motion in the factory. LaBella’s growing Due Diligence Program is one of the largest and most established in the eastern United States and is quickly expanding into other geographies. LaBella’s due diligence practice services a wide variety of clients, consisting of municipalities, developers, attorneys, and financial institutions, each requiring client-centric and sometimes creative solutions. In addition to environmental due diligence services, LaBella’s program provides construction risk due diligence services, including completing Property Condition Assessments, Plan and Cost Reviews, and Construction Draw Inspections.
