Description

Expos or Finisher needed (3pm to close) to finish food orders, check orders for completion, keep tickets organized and communicate with the cooks and crew. Must have excellent communication skills, be professional and friendly and be able to work under pressure. Duties and Requirements: Ideally 1+ years experience in a similar, fast paced restaurant or kitchen; must be self directed, professional and highly motivated to get orders out in a timely manner. Must be able to read tickets quickly and keep food orders organized. Must be able to work quickly under pressure, follow instructions and work as a team. Must be able to lift, carry and move up to 50 pounds of products, supplies and equipment. Able to stand for long periods of time, make visual inspections, work in a tight, fast paced, warm/hot environment. Be willing to learn other stations and positions Must be a strong reader, excellent communicator, team oriented and comfortable with technology - email, texting, possess a working cell phone. Candidates must have or attain a Washington State Food Worker Card, reliable transportation, strong communication skills, be friendly, flexible, willing to learn and jump in where needed. Description of the Role The Porter is a key member of the back-of-house team, responsible for ensuring that all sanitation procedures are met and followed in compliance with food safety regulations. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining a clean, organized, and food-safe environment across the kitchen and retail butcher areas. The Porter assists with closing duties, including deep cleaning kitchen and retail equipment, sanitizing all tools and surfaces, and securing the facility at the end of each shift. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety. The Porter reports directly to the Retail Operations General Manager and must be able to pivot between different cleaning and prep tasks throughout the shift. Core Responsibilities Sanitation & Kitchen Maintenance Work quickly and efficiently to clean and sanitize all tools, kitchen equipment, work surfaces, floors, and walls. Maintain a food-safe environment by following proper sanitation protocols for surfaces, displays, and equipment. Adhere to the First In, First Out (FIFO) rule, ensuring all ingredients are appropriately labeled and dated. Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling procedures are followed. Food Prep & Support Assist in the preparation of assigned ingredients, sauces, soups, sandwiches, and other prepared foods. Support kitchen staff with basic food prep tasks such as portioning and packaging ingredients. Work independently on food prep and specifically the sandwich production line for wholesale order fulfillment needs, unsupervised and during downtime hours of the day. Follow detailed recipe and process documentation (outlined in standard operating procedures) with precision and consistency. Assemble packaging, stage prep work, and ready shipments for 3PL pickup. Maintain strict adherence to health and hygiene standards mandated by both the Department of Health (DOH) and the USDA. Keep an organized and sanitary workstation. Independently close the kitchen, following standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cleanliness and security. Job Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift, 40 hours per week). Ability to perform tasks that require crouching, kneeling, grasping, and fine manipulation. Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize daily cleaning tasks effectively.
