It’ll be a luncheonette until evening, when the dinner menu will have dressier trappings and a seasonal à la carte menu featuring dry-aged fish." -NY Times Confidant Luncheonette is inspired by New York City’s vibrant diner and deli culture, bringing a fine-dining level of attention to detail and inventiveness to midday fare in a bright and bustling, yet laid-back environment. For dinner, Confidant will transform into a place of comfort and luxury. Showcasing a seasonal a la carte menu and chef's counter experience that will spotlight the ingenuity and creativity of the Confidant team. Confidant & its Luncheonette are committed to matching the vibrant innovation and excitement of Industry City and its historic roots through a high level execution, and an intentional, relentlessly evolving menu. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Maintain a clean kitchen and keep the dish area organized and free of clutter • Set up dishwashing stations, including dish machines and sinks • Ensure floors are clean and dry throughout your shift • Wash, stack and store glassware, silverware, cookware and storage containers properly • Change water in machines and sinks every two hours, or more frequently as needed, while correctly using chemical dilutions • Assist with timely storage of food deliveries • Maintain trash cans during your shift and remove full trash cans and boxes at the end of each shift • Organize the dry storage area and keep storage shelves dry • Follow the posted daily dish cleaning duties • Support the chefs with any additional tasks required • Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds for distances of up to 50 feet and to manipulate them from heights which may require the use of a footstool. Skills and Qualifications • Experience in a similar role is helpful but not required • Team-service experience is strongly recommended. • The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and the ability to work in teams. *Must have or be willing to obtain food certification.
