Job description will be to oversee the maintenance of 2 smaller commercial buildings in the Anchorage, AK area. Job Description This position carries out those activities required to maintain and correct damage and make repairs to physical buildings, structures, and facilities as well maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and cleaning equipment of assigned facilities. Additionally, this person will do a variety of work involving equipment use such as scissor lifts and necessitate regularly working from ladders. Responsibilities Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. Current electrician's certificate of fitness is preferred. Regular day shift, M-F but position may involve on call, night, weekend work or emergency call outs on an as needed basis. This position may require approximately 50% travel out of Anchorage area to other Alaska locations. Some overnight travel is required.
