ShareAbout Us: We are a well established upholstery business in Tampa Bay and surrounding areas based in Clearwater, specializing in commercial upholstery in hospitality industry, with a strong demand for quality craftsmanship in the region, we’re seeking a dedicated apprentice to join our team and learn the trade hands-on. Job Description: As an Upholstery Apprentice, you’ll train under experienced professionals, mastering skills like fabric cutting, sewing, padding, and re-upholstering for restaurant booths and/or custom projects. This is an entry-level role perfect for those eager to start a career in upholstery. Hours are full-time but flexible, varying with project needs (20-40 hours/week). Responsibilities: Assist with prep work, stripping and installing covers, webbing, spring tying, and padding, etc). Learn to use industrial sewing machines, hand tools, and upholstery materials. Support project prep (measuring, cutting, estimating yardage). Maintain a clean, safe workspace; follow safety protocols. Grow into independent tasks as skills develop. Requirements: No experience required—enthusiasm for learning is key! High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Interest in hands-on work; basic sewing knowledge a plus but not needed. Reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to work in a team. Valid driver’s license (preferred for job site travel in Clearwater/Tampa Bay area) for when ready to do solo installs; until then, ride will be provided to job sites but must have phone transportation to on-site training. What We Offer: Hands-on training in high-demand upholstery skills (hospitality industry). Starting pay of $13-$16/hour, with raises as skills grow (journeymen earn $28K-$40K+).
