Job Description Responsibilities: Maintain schedule availability to accept opportunities that arise taking at least two assignments per week. Proctors’ general classroom, study and library reading activities as assigned; proctors tests if directed by administration in the absence of the regular teacher. Execute lesson plans consistent with the teacher’s guidelines, and school curriculum. When the need occurs, temporarily assists the school administration in maintaining order within the school building. Uphold an orderly classroom environment and provide a positive learning experience. Facilitate monitoring of classroom, lunchroom, playground and or other school areas as directed to by administration in the absence of the regular teacher. Familiarize yourself with emergency protocols, such as fire drills and lockdowns, in case of an emergency at a school. Work with department teachers and ask for help to facilitate safety practices. Perform required classroom functions such as (a) Take attendance according to school procedure; (b) Perform lesson plans provided and/or engage students on material necessary to continue the learning process in the absence of lesson plans; (c) Assign homework according to teacher’s lesson plans; (d) Practice safe classroom management skills ensuring that the learning environment remains positive and helpful throughout the day; (e) Under the instruction of the administration, demonstrate flexibility and willingness to adapt and change to support the needs of the school. Supplement lesson plans with your own class activities if lessons end early. Mentor and engage students. Maintain a positive, friendly, and respectful demeanor always. Create and maintain discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and productive learning environment in accordance with school policies. Establish a positive relationship with Parallel staff, as well as our school administrators, teachers, students, and their families. Adhere to all company and school policies and procedures. Requirements Bachelor Degree or higher required. Excellent Communication Skills Maintain compliance requirements with WI DPI, including annual re-certification on free training, as determined by the State of Wisconsin.
