You do not need to be an expert at all of the above but we do work on a wide variety of systems and equipment. Strong leadership skills — able to mentor and manage other technicians. State certifications required. Master-level diagnostic, repair, and problem-solving skills. Experience with fleet service is a plus. Own tools and keep them in excellent working order. Comfortable using advanced scan tools and shop management software (TekMetric experience a plus). Automotive Mechanics Needed! Job Summary: The Automotive Mechanic will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections. • Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components. • Read, interpret, and follow service procedures. • Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders. • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs. • Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up. Education and Experience (required): • High school diploma or equivalent. • For Mechanic II, 4 years of previous experience is required. • For Mechanic III, 8 years of previous experience required {mentor and oversees team members) • Mechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipment. • Good attention to detail and organizational skills. • Able to work independently and as part of a team. • Has own tools with a rolling toolbox and is able to work overtime and weekends. • Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures. Education and Experience (preferred): • Certificate in Automotive Technology or related. • National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s). • State Mechanic Certification(s). • Valid driver’s license.
