About Us At America West Medical Transport, we specialize in providing compassionate and comfortable non-emergency medical transportation services in the San Jose/Santa Clara County region for individuals who require stretcher or wheelchair assistance. As an America West trained Driver, you become part of a team of highly trained transport specialists dedicated to ensuring the safe and seamless transport of patients to and from healthcare facilities or their homes. A Day in the Life Safely transport medical clients/patients in company vehicle using GPS May work independently or with another teammate based on driving assignments Ensure patients are transported safely from home to care facility and vice versa Use mobile apps and company software for communication Communicate with dispatch, management, and training team Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform safety checks Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families Be available for on-call shifts as needed Comply with safety and health regulations (drug tests, background checks, etc.) Participate in ongoing training Requirements & Qualifications Valid CA Driver’s License Clean Driving Record (No more than 1 point) Able to lift/move 50+ pounds Strong communication skills Willingness to travel to various locations Comfortable with using apps for tracking and communication Professional and courteous at all times Fluent in English Must pass a physical agility test Must pass a background check Must pass DOT drug test Must pass TB test (skin or X-ray) Note: America West is not a second chance employer Perks & Benefits Health Insurance after 90 days Life, Dental, Vision Insurance Paid Sick Leave Paid Training Provided Certification Autonomy & Growth Uniforms and Shoes Provided Full-time (32+ hours/week) Pay Rate Wheelchair Driver: $18.00/hour Stretcher Driver: $19.00/hour Work Shifts All shifts are 8 hours long Earliest start: 3:00 AM Latest start: 12:00 PM (noon) Weekend & holiday availability preferred No night or overnight shifts Grow with Us https://www.america-west.com/ This position is ideal for those interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, including EMT certification or other medical pathways.
