Responsibilities • Responsible for moving air cargo within designated warehouse. • Load and unload cargo from pallets and containers. • Build up cargo for outbound flights. • Break down cargo from import flights. • Facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo to and from semitrucks. • May operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklift, aircraft pallets and pallet jacks. • Check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions and documents as appropriate when accepting or delivering cargo. • Confirm Dangerous Goods (DG) have been checked within aircraft limits and Follow specific procedure for DG shipments when received, including when shipment is abandoned by consignee. • Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with and without, assistance of sight or visual aids. Minimum Requirements • HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent • Must be at least 18 years of age • Valid driver's license • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e., Friday, Saturday, Sunday), holidays, and days off. **This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), a labor union which requires joining the TWU and paying union dues.** Preferred Skills • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
