Moscow Axe Throwing Venue Host
https://moscowaxethrowing.com/about-us/#moscow-axe-throwing-job-application Job Title: Moscow Axe Throwing Venue Host Job Type: Part-Time / On-Call (Fall & Winter) Hours: Flexible scheduling, generally between 12 PM – 12 AM (seasonal variations) Compensation: Hourly wage + tips Minimum Age: 21+ (must be able to serve and consume alcohol) About Us: We’re not just another axe-throwing spot—we’re one of the top venues in the nation, thanks to our unique mix of weapons, expert coaching, and next-level guest perks. For 3 years, we’ve thrived by making every visit unforgettable: whether it’s snapping action shots for guests, offering exclusive upgrades, or teaching first-timers to stick a perfect throw. Our vibe? High-energy but laid-back, where safety and fun go hand in hand. The Role: As a Venue Host, you’ll be the heartbeat of operation and the ultimate multitasker: part coach, part bartender, part hype-person, and always the go-to problem solver. You’ll often run the venue solo, so hustle, social smarts, and attention to detail are non-negotiable. We’ll train you on axe-throwing, but your job is to own the guest experience—whether that’s teaching techniques, serving drinks, or calming a waitlist on a packed night. Responsibilities: ✔ Guest Experience: Coach throws (with showmanship!), snap/share action photos, and upsell perks & elevate visits. ✔ Solo Operations: Manage all venue functions alone—supervising lanes, handling cash/POS transactions (Toast), scheduling reservations and maintaining a balanced cash drawer/ledger. ✔ Social Calibration: Adjust your behavior on the fly—energetic with rowdy groups, patient with beginners, and firm when setting expectations when the venue is at capacity. ✔ Food/Drink Service: Take orders, check IDs, and serve alcohol responsibly. ✔ Venue Upkeep: Conduct improvements, maintenance, and deep cleaning (target assembly, equipment checks, organizing supplies). ✔ Marketing Support: Capture content, post to social media accounts, pitch promotions, partner with marketing projects and hype events. ✔ Light Admin: Occasional paperwork, inventory tracking, ordering, report assistance & customer management. We Prefer: • Live close to the venue—someone that lives within 5-10 minutes to the venue. • Schedule availability—someone that can plan availability 2 weeks in advance and has enough availability to justify putting on the schedule. Who You Are: • A charismatic self-starter—you love engaging crowds and take initiative without oversight. • Socially calibrated—you read the room and adapt your tone (e.g., hyping up a competitive group vs. calming a frustrated guest). • A meticulous multitasker—you can balance drink orders, coaching, and cash handling without dropping the ball. • Safety-first but fun—you enforce rules without being a buzzkill. Perks: • Free axe-throwing + occasional free sessions for friends/family. • 50% off personal food/drinks anytime (or opt for 20% off when bringing guests). • Flexible scheduling—ideal for students or side hustles. Requirements: • 21+ with ability to serve/consume alcohol. • Physically able to lift targets (50+ lbs) and stay active for shifts. • Cash-handling experience (bonus: bar/retail/hospitality background).
