CLEANING/ JANITORIAL TECHNICIAN: Janitorial Cleaning Technician Needed STARTING 10/1/25 Job location: New Britain, Connecticut (Pay: $20 per hour) Windsor, Connecticut (Pay: $20 per hour) West Hartford, Connecticut (Pay: $20 per hour) Norwalk, Connecticut (Pay: $20 per hour) Monday - Friday Start time: 8am End time: 4pm Breaks: - 30-minute unpaid break (daily at noon) - 15-minute paid break Position Overview: We are currently hiring Cleaning Technicians for janitorial cleaning services in retail and commercial environments. This role involves working under the direction of store managers and occasionally your on-site supervisor to complete assigned cleaning tasks thoroughly, professionally, and efficiently. Our clients have requested a heightened level of service due to increased rodent activity, so all candidates must be comfortable working in environments that may require the cleanup of rodent droppings and other sanitation-related tasks. Primary Responsibilities: - Vacuuming carpets, floors, and under shelving units - Sweeping and dusting racks, displays, and hard-to-reach areas - Mopping floors and entryways - Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms (toilets, sinks, mirrors, etc.) - Emptying trash and recycling bins - Spot-cleaning signage, baseboards, or spills - Sanitizing areas with rodent droppings, including shelves and storage rooms - Following store-specific protocols as instructed by store management or your supervisor Work Environment: This job takes place in active retail spaces where store employees and customers are present, so professionalism and discretion are essential at all times. You will often be working in tight or high-traffic areas and must be respectful of the space and people around you. Professional Conduct & Expectations: - Maintain a quiet, focused demeanor while on the job - No loud talking, music, or use of profanity - No personal cell phone usage while working (calls or browsing) - Respect and follow all instructions from store managers and supervisors - Maintain a strong work ethic with attention to detail and accountability Dress Code: To ensure safety and professionalism, all techs are expected to wear: - Jeans or work pants - Sneakers or work boots - No sandals, open-toe shoes, Crocs, or slippers Qualifications - Prior janitorial or commercial cleaning experience is a plus - Must be comfortable cleaning rodent droppings and handling sanitation-grade products - Ability to lift and move items, bend, reach, and work on your feet for several hours - Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
