Job Overview A Persian Deli Cook is responsible for the preparation and sale of a variety of Persian and American deli food items using strong understanding of cooking methods and ingredients. This role requires culinary skills to create high-quality hot and cold dishes, a strong understanding of food safety, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced deli setting. Duties Prepare and cook deli meats, sandwiches, salads, and other menu items according to established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed. Provide excellent customer service by addressing any inquiries or special requests from patrons. Participate in catering events as required, ensuring high-quality meal presentation. Skills Strong understanding of ingredients and cooking methods. Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in roles such as Deli Cook or similar positions. Strong culinary skills with experience in food preparation, cooking, and meal preparation. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques. Dietary department experience or dietary aide experience is a plus. Fine dining experience is advantageous but not required. Proficient knife skills for efficient food preparation. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience with menu planning and catering services is desirable. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
