Position Summary: The Slitter Operator is responsible for the safe and accurate setup, operation, and maintenance of the slitting machine to ensure rolls are cut to specified widths. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality, equipment efficiency, and a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities: Machine Operation and Setup:  Set up and calibrate slitting machines according to work orders and specifications.  Safely mount, adjust, and secure rolls using hoists and hand tools.  Assemble cores, collars, plates, and shafts as needed for each run.  Monitor equipment during operation, ensuring proper speed, alignment, and cut accuracy. Production Quality:  Inspect rolls throughout the run and perform final quality checks.  Make real-time adjustments to correct any quality issues or misalignments.  Complete all documentation accurately, including production logs, inventory transactions, labels, and time sheets. Maintenance and Safety:  Conduct routine inspections of machinery and work area to ensure compliance with safety standards.  Identify and troubleshoot mechanical or process issues to minimize downtime.  Follow all safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and company policies. Efficiency and Teamwork:  Work collaboratively with team members to perform changeovers and set-ups efficiently.  Maximize equipment uptime and material yield while minimizing waste.  Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving efforts.
