The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager with the day-to-day operations of the store to meet objectives for customer service and store standards. Directs and supervises all Front-End employees, setting standards for service and performance, providing training and professional development. Responsible for ensuring an optimal customer experience by seeing that standards for customer service, cleanliness, and sales floor presentation are being met, implementing strategies to improve the customer experience. In absence of Department Head, the Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supervising and directing the work of department staff. Provides support to Front End during peak periods or when scheduled conflicts arise. Supervises/directs Department Heads in absence of Store Manager. Works collaboratively with store management team to achieve the goals of this cooperatively governed triple-bottom-line company. This is a combined role of on-site maintenance duties plus being the on-site manager. You’ll be supported by other contractors as well as supported by our back-office staff. You are the responsible person on-site, representing the owner. The property is 90% occupied with plans to make this a nationally showcased property, with your help. As far as maintenance, you’ll handle routine maintenance work orders, as well as perform light make-readies to prepare vacant units for leasing. Heavy maintenance will be done by others, not you.
