General Duties: - Making sure people are following company rules. - Ensuring the yards are kept clean and that all company property is accounted for during each shift. - More specific duties include directing material handlers - Performing check-in/check-out procedures with crews - Reporting vehicle issues to the fleet team - Assisting with material distribution - Maintaining a spreadsheet of data regarding materials This position is in frequent communication with the dispatchers, the branch fleet manager, as well as personnel at our corporate office. Duties: - Observe, Report, Deter. - Safely guide pedestrians, especially children, across designated crosswalks - Ensure the safety of pedestrians by monitoring traffic flow and controlling the movement of pedestrians - Communicate with drivers to ensure they are aware of pedestrians and adhere to traffic laws - Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs in crossing the street - Maintain a visible presence and act as a deterrent to potential traffic violations near the crosswalk - Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines related to crossing guard duties - Report any incidents or concerns to appropriate authorities -Other duties as assigned Qualifications: - Knowledge of EPA, HIPAA, and OSHA compliance management is a plus - Ability to effectively communicate with individuals of diverse backgrounds and age groups - Strong attention to detail and ability to remain alert and focused during shifts - Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and withstand various weather conditions - Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols - Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently - Prior experience as a crossing guard is not required, but preferred (training will be provided). Must Successfully Pass Following: -Basic medical examination to verify that the candidate can safely perform the essential functions of the job, as a Crossing Guard. -Vision exam to verify that the candidate has at least 20/40 vision, with or without corrective lenses. If a candidate requires corrective lenses, the report from the medical provider conducting the pre-employment medical examination must note whether the candidate is qualified for the position with corrective lenses. -Hearing exam to verify that the candidate is able to hear at 40 decibels or better, with or without a hearing aid(s).
