Maplebear Inc. D/B/A Instacart in San Francisco, CA seeks Senior Software Engineer, Data, (Multiple Openings). Responsibilities: Responsible for designing, building, and implementing software solutions to scale and improve the Instacart platform and related technologies with an emphasis on the development and optimization of robust data pipelines and infrastructure. Duties include: building and maintaining robust data pipelines and implementing complex technical solutions to optimize performance, scalability, and reliability; analyzing and optimizing expensive SQL queries; developing data-driven solutions to support analytical reporting and business intelligence; executing ongoing testing and analysis of current systems, including independent performance analysis, diagnosis, and troubleshooting; determining design solutions to problematic programming; and other duties as assigned. Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental United States but will report directly to Instacart headquarters in San Francisco, CA. Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field (or foreign equivalent). Requirements: 2 years of experience in the job offered or related. Other special requirements include: 2 years of experience working with Java, Ruby, Python, or similar programming languages; 2 years of experience working with MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, or similar data management systems; 2 years of experience building and deploying high quality data pipelines to production needed for machine learning models; 2 years of experience building tooling and infrastructure to support machine learning lifecycles; 2 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into data warehouses or data lakes; and 2 years of experience optimizing data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.
