Location: Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia Area Job Type: Part-Time Construction Home Inspector / Site Supervisor About the Role: We are seeking an experienced construction professional with a strong background in residential building codes—including plumbing, electrical, structural, and general construction—to assist our team on various home addition and remodeling projects. This is a part-time consulting role ideal for a home inspector, site supervisor, or retired construction professional who wants flexible hours and meaningful involvement in high-quality residential projects. Note: We are looking for someone who fully understands plumbing, electrical, and building codes for residential construction projects in the DMV area. Responsibilities: Review residential project plans and ensure compliance with local building, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical codes (DC, Maryland, and Virginia). Visit job sites as needed to monitor construction progress and confirm quality and code compliance. Identify potential issues before inspections and provide practical solutions to meet code requirements. Collaborate with project managers, tradesmen, and homeowners to maintain high construction standards. Provide expert feedback and recommendations on permit submissions and inspection readiness. Occasionally assist with contractor coordination or documentation for permits and inspections. Qualifications: Minimum 15 years of experience in residential construction, renovation, or inspection. Deep understanding of local building codes plumbing, electrical and Prior experience as a licensed home inspector, building code consultant, construction superintendent, or site supervisor strongly preferred. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and visit job sites when necessary (DC, MD, VA area). Preferred: Experience working with permitting departments or inspectors. Schedule & Compensation: 5–10 hours per week (flexible schedule).
