Job Title: Driller Helper – Geotechnical Services Location: Regional Travel (Home Base: Columbus, OH) Pay: $21/hour + Per Diem + Hotel Accommodations Position Overview: As a Driller Helper, you will assist our Drillers in conducting soil, rock, and pavement sampling for geotechnical investigations. This role is essential to our field operations and involves physical labor, travel, and outdoor work in a variety of environments. Schedule & Travel: Workdays: Monday – Friday (typically 8-10 hour days, overtime eligible). Weekend works may be needed. Travel: You will travel regionally with the drilling crew and stay overnight in company-provided hotels Monday through Thursday night. Per Diem: Daily per diem provided for meals for working out of town. Home Friday – Sunday: You’ll return home weekly for weekends. Key Responsibilities: - Assist the Driller with setting up and operating drilling equipment - Load/unload tooling, rods, and supplies from trucks - Collect soil and rock samples per project specifications - Maintain a clean and safe job site - Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times - Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment - Communicate effectively with Driller, Project Manager, and crew members - Keep accurate daily field logs and paperwork Requirements: - High school diploma or GED (preferred) - Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required) - Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check - Comfortable with physical labor: lifting up to 75 lbs, working on your feet, outdoors in all weather conditions - Willingness to travel overnight 4-5 days a week - Strong work ethic and ability to follow directions - Basic mechanical aptitude a plus What We Offer: - Competitive hourly wage: $21/hour - Overtime pay after 40 hours per week - Paid hotels and daily per diem while traveling - On-the-job training – no prior drilling experience required - Career advancement opportunities within geotechnical and construction materials testing - Comprehensive safety training and PPE provided - Benefits package Why Join Us: This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in geotechnical and construction materials testing. Seeking applicants for Backhoe operator at local cemetery. Prefer experienced backhoe operator who is very knowledgeable in maneuvering in tight areas. There are other duties involved with this position such as assisting dump truck driver, boarding into the designated digging area, moving monuments and headstones in order to gain access to dig the grave. Must be willing to work in all types of weather conditions. When not digging graves other tasks will be assigned such as trash pickup, tree work, mowing, trimming, etc.. This can lead to a full time Union contract position with benefits after 90 days. Background checks will be required. 90 day probation period also applies.
