Work Scheduled will be • Weekend Shift Friday, Saturday & Sunday 5:30am-6pm (3 x 12 hour shift week, OT is available) - $25.80/hr Position Description (Principle Duties and Responsibilities) Assembles mechanical units, fabricated parts/components and/or electrical/electronic systems to make subassemblies, assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures and miscellaneous equipment. Fits, aligns, calibrates and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements; repairing units or products that have failed to meet requirements. • This position requires knowledge that is acquired through experience, specialized education or training. • The role has clearly defined procedures and tasks as well as defined guidelines to aid in decision making. • Technical knowledge required is limited to the tasks performed in own discipline area and is considered basic. • The tasks are generally routine and manual. • The job is expected to follow detailed and defined rules / instructions and to make simple judgement in straightforward situations. • Typically requires selecting between solutions already established. A production worker operates factory equipment such as press brakes and roll forming equipment, works on a production line, uses mechanical equipment to create and inspect products, and adheres to all factory safety guidelines, quality and productivity standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Production Worker: • Adheres to all safety guidelines in the production area and in handling of materials in the factory. • Starts assigned assembly and production machinery at beginning of shift. • Makes sure that workstation is clean and free of hazardous materials. • Cleans equipment. • Inspects assembled products to ensure they are up to quality standards. • Keeps production floor clean. • Reports issues or problems with production equipment to immediate supervisor. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Strong attention to detail. • Is able to identify problems or malfunctions with machinery and equipment. • Demonstrates analytical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to troubleshoot production issues. • Is familiar with all factory safety procedures and guidelines. • Works efficiently and manages time effectively. • Possesses physical strength and stamina required to stand, walk, and lift (up to and including 50 lbs.) for long periods of time. PRIMARY DUTIES: Assemble and test large industrial products from bare parts, in "job shop" and production environment. This includes mechanical connections, supports and structures, and control panels. Build custom air compressor, vacuum pump, blower, and pump assembly packages. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Some experience to build and disassemble an engine or machine • Electronic Panel Assembly experience preferred but not required • Read & interpret assembly drawings • Mechanical skills • Physically able (lifting of 50 lbs occasionally) • Work well independently/self-starter and with a team DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Such duties include, but are not limited to: • Assemble mechanical assemblies; such as air ends, blowers, and other compressed air system components, working on a shop floor. • Inspects components for proper assembly, specifications, fit and finish. • Plans assembly and positions components according to the knowledge of unit being assembled and through the interpretation of engineering drawings, layout drawings or electrical schematics. • Remove small quantities of metal with hand files, scrapers or machine tools to produce close fit between parts. • Bend and install tubing and fittings for oil lubrication/cooling systems. • Align couplings and subassemblies to the gearbox or other components. • Operate drill presses, milling machines, lathes, hydraulic presses, welders and other shop equipment to assist in assembly operations. • Test completed assemblies for proper operation, temperature, vibration and noise levels and complete required written reports. Troubleshoot, repair or replace faulty components. • Provide feedback in regards to design improvements, updates, and procedures, verbally and in writing, as required. • Work in conjunction with Floor Supervisor to ensure assemblies meet design parameters. • Perform workstation and shop clean-up duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE Qualifications and Requirements: • Education: High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required. • Specialized training: mechanics, electrical • Previous experience is desired but not required. It should include mechanical assembly and disassembly.
