We are seeking an individual who will… • Be on time to each class. • Provide logistical support for teachers by: copying, laminating, grading papers, creating documents, etc. • Provide classroom instructional help as directed by the teacher. • Supervise outdoor and indoor recess to ensure student safety. • Promptly report student concerns, disturbances and conflicts to home room teachers. • Supervise cafeteria by assisting children with their lunches, cleaning tables, and entering lunch data on the computer. • Maintain workroom/Classroom Assistant station in an orderly fashion. • Attend Classroom Assistant meetings and contribute positively. • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information. • Connect, support, and care for students in a way that fosters student development. • Notice and report positive student behavior. • Commit to modeling the mission, especially with students. • Talk to students in a nurturing way to support students’ academic and social learning. • Stay up-to-date on communication. • Performs other related duties as assigned. The successful individual in this position will: • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. • Take initiative. • Execute things independently when needed and work cooperatively with a team regularly. Required Experience and Education. • High school diploma required. • Currently held CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (with Epinephrine Auto Injector supplement included), or arrangements made to obtain certification within 90 days of employment start date. • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer. You must meet the following physical requirements. • Accompany students to various locations around campus. • Able to clean tables and sweep floors. • Able to patrol the playground during recesses. • Able to quickly get to a student on any portion of the playground, including raised portions and play areas with wood chips. • Able to kneel; for example, beside a student lying on the ground to assist and/or perform CPR. • Able to quickly get to a student in inclement weather. • Able to lift, drag, pull or push 60 lbs. or more . • Able to climb playground equipment. We bring sports, fitness and fun to area preschools, daycares, municipal programs, and private schools. With over 70 different sports and fitness activities, we're looking for people who want to make a difference in the lives of kids. We're not looking to hone the next D1 athlete, we're looking to help kids enjoy sports and fitness by getting an introduction to both mainline sports (basketball, soccer, flag football...) as well as other creative activities that involvement movement. While this is NOT a full time position, it is full time fun! We give you lesson plans, all the equipment, and training to deliver a great experience for our little friends. And we will work around your schedule. Most of our programs run somewhere between 9am and 3pm, but we do have some after school and weekend clients as well. Our most pressing need at this time is for daytime hours working generally in the midtown Indy area (think Meridian Hills over to Binford Blvd. Hours / days will vary but the schedule will be consistent over the course of the winter into spring. Requirements Must have: Positive Attitude! Love working with kids (and some experience too...) Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, jump, jog, and move actively to execute a class Be able to pass a background check Have your own reliable transportation Communication through email / text / phone / Marco Polo app Nice to have: Experience coaching youth sports, or teaching preschool aged kids (we primarily work with ages 2-6, up to age 12) Ability to be flexible and think on your feet (sometimes you show up and the only space available is a hallway!) ART 311 CERAMICS I: DESIGNING IN CLAY I is an introductory studio course offering a hands-on exploration of working with clay. Students will learn foundational ceramic techniques with a primary focus on hand-building methods such as pinch, coil, and slab construction, and beginning glazing and firing techniques. Through a series of structured projects, students will address both functional and sculptural approaches to form, examining how utility, aesthetics, and personal expression intersect in ceramic design. ART 312 3D DESIGN examines design as a deliberate process starting with identifying formal elements of three-dimensional design (space, perspective, form, scale, volume, mass, texture, and light) and how to effectively utilize design principles to organize them. Material exploration will include wire, clay, cardboard, wood, and found materials. Skills acquired in this course have direct applications to anyone working in art and design to the majority of us who rely on visual communication in our everyday life. Start and End Date: August 25, 2025 to December 16, 2025 Course Schedule: ●     ART 311 CERAMICS I: DESIGNING IN CLAY - Thursdays | 11:15 AM to 2:20 PM | 3 credits ●     ART 312 3D DESIGN – Thursdays | 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM | 3 credits Requirements A graduate degree (MFA or MA) in Ceramics, Sculpture, Studio Art, or a closely related field. A demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and student engagement Experience in both critical/theoretical and technical/studio aspects of ceramics and 3D design Prior teaching experience in higher education is strongly preferred Proficiency in ceramic hand-building and wheel techniques, 3D design principles, material handling (e.g., clay, wire, cardboard, wood), and the use of tools and equipment related to ceramics and sculpture, including basic kiln operation and safety procedures.
