Our beautiful cottage is available for rent again. This small, 400 square foot cottage is designed in such a way to make a small space feel spacious. We are looking this time for a single person to rent the space. Our experience with renting has told us that eventually this space becomes too confining for two! The interior of the cottage comes with a loft platform for a queen sized mattress, full bathroom with washer and dryer, full kitchen with breakfast nook including table and benches. And a single bed sized daybed/couch with comfortable mattress. There are surrounding perennial gardens and an acre and half fenced in yard with pasture, outbuildings, fruit trees, vegetable garden, and chickens. All shared by myself, cottage renter and another couple with a five year old child who also rent on the property. I have two dogs; an elderly corgi, a 5 year old terrior mix and a property manager elder statesman long hair orange cat named Otis! You are welcome to have a dog and or cat if they are well socialized with other animals and people. There is a fenced-in area behind the cottage where you can put a doghouse if you wanted. There is a semi private patio for the cottage and a dry shed for some storage. We live on a county road about 22 minutes from the downtown Food Coop in Bellingham and 17 minutes from the Cordata Food Coop and Trader Joes. We are also conveniently located 6 miles from downtown Lynden and 18 miles from the Peace Arch border crossing. We are also just 6 miles from Nuggents corner on Hwy 542 and the Nooksack River. Heather Meadows visitor center is 33 miles east up Hwy 542 with incredible hiking and skiing in the North Cascades. There are beautiful wooded trails across the road and lovely large horse properties on either side of us with good, friendly neighbors. Just down the road to the west at the bottom of the hill is a lovely evening walk to a 100+ acre wetland with salmon stream restoration and migrating birds. Head east and up the hill towards Noon Road is a breathtaking view of Mount Baker! I have been fortunate to have lived on this little bit of land for just over twenty years now and raised my two young adult children here. This is a very special place.
