The Help Desk Technician provides on-going support for all client hardware and software products used at the school. Works with teachers and staff to troubleshoot AV and hardware issues, as well as set up and troubleshoot networked client computers, tablets, and printers. Understands the connectivity between projectors, speakers, document cameras, wireless broadcast systems as well as all associated cables between those devices and is able to troubleshoot connectivity issues on the fly in active classroom environments. We are seeking an individual who will: • Support the computer network, client machines, school AV systems, printers, tablets, and third-party software applications by providing technical support and answering tickets based on: computer hardware, computer software, classroom AV connections, printing, iPads, and account issues in addition to any other Tier 1 tech support needs. • Quickly adapt to fixing new computer issues and understanding new systems as they present themselves. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Innovation and Technology The successful individual in this position will: • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. • Take initiative. • Execute tasks independently when needed and work cooperatively with a team regularly. Required Experience and Education: • Bachelor’s degree preferred • Two years or more of information technology experience preferred • Experience in an educational environment preferred • Excellent troubleshooting skills of both hardware and software and ability to do basic computer repairs required • Good understanding of computer networks, hardware, Microsoft Windows 7and 8, and Microsoft Office products required • Strong AV skills with knowledge of connectivity between projectors, speakers, document cameras, wireless broadcast systems, and docking stations as well as all associated cables between those devices required • Installation and maintenance of short run in-wall and dropped ceiling cables as well as crimping and repair of ethernet cables • Familiarity with Apple OSX and iPads preferred • Ability to occasionally work outside of business hours when needed • Work professionally and patiently with all members of The Bear Creek School community • Hold CPR/AED/First Aid certification (with epinephrine autoinjector supplement) or obtain certification within 90 days of employment start date • Currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer (sponsorship is not available for this position) It's more than a Job.
