F.C. Owens is a design/Build firm primarily specializing in recording studio and theater construction. You can see our work on instagram @f.c.owens Our projects vary from full ground up construction of new structures to just custom furniture, and everything in between. The bulk of the tasks we do directly revolve around rough framing, finish carpentry and basic electrical work. Experience with at least 2 of those three items is a requirement. As there are some specialized and proprietary techniques and materials required for acoustic considerations in involved in most of the processes we perform, there will be a learning curve period for anyone coming on to the team. The ideal candidate is someone who has a solid foundation of residential and commercial general construction methods and materials, but is interested in and willing to learn new aspects which specifically apply to our typical project types, and is looking to build and grow long term with the company. The general spectrum of tasks we directly perform include: - wall/ceiling./floor rough framing in both wood and light gauge steel. - basic electrical work - primarily just running MC and Romex to outlet and lighting locations, then basic outlet and lighting fixture wiring. - Door and window installation - we custom fabricate all studio isolation swing doors and jambs as well as interior soundproof window assemblies, then we install all commercially procured exterior windows and doors. - Insulation - there are different types of insulation products which we use both in-wall for thermal and isolation values and then separately as the acoustic treatment substrates for the studio room interiors. - Interior room acoustic treatment and custom millwork - this is all one integrated process, these processes require primarily high end finish carpentry skills, but involve the most “non standard” practices which will have to be learned. - Painting/finishing - There is not a whole lot of this work in most of our projects but always a little bit in every project. Some finish materials we frequently work with: Renner 688 - this is my current prefered clear and pigmented top coat for all furniture, doors, and any other high traffic millwork Various hardwax/penetrating oil finishes Various interior latex wall paints Occasionally we do Lime Wash and roman clay wall finishes. - Custom furniture / Fixture / cabinetry fabrication and installation - While a much smaller part of the job, these are things we do for virtually every project. These are things which are typically shop fabricated then delivered and installed. - Low voltage / Audio wiring and gear set up - also a small and infrequent portion of work, but we typically handle some portion of this work for all of our studio builds. With the proper technique, and a focus on our client’s comfort, we keep up with their nail care and provide a much more relaxing and positive experience.   About the Job:   The role will require use of your own car to drive to each clients house and perform a nail trim and/or grind as well as any additional services they request (ear cleaning, pad moisturizing, pad shaving). Most clients are on a repetitive schedule allowing them to get to know you and become more comfortable with the services. This role will require working our pop up events. We currently have a 3hr pop-up every Saturday from 12-3pm. Additionally, we try and attend any and all pet centered events around Ventura & Los Angeles County. The pop ups are a great way to gain new clients by providing information about our services as well as providing services on-site during these events. We are looking to fill three shifts a week with hours ranging from 16-20hrs per week. The working hours are: Friday (10am-6pm) and Saturday (8am-4pm). Responsibilities: Maintain all work equipment in good standing and utilize company magnets when working. Drive to the client's home & perform nail trim services (appointments are typically less than 15-20 minutes from arrival to payment.) Uphold safety standards and follow procedures for nail trimmings. Provide excellent customer service & ensure the well-being of clients during nail trims. Accept payment for services provided and reschedule/confirm next routine appointment Assure all tools are charging and prepared for the next shift. Qualifications: Valid driver's license with a clean record (no driving tickets or accidents in the last 3 years). Reliable mode of transportation to get to and from appointments daily. Previous experience working with animals, preferably as a vet tech, dog groomer, or similar role - Must already know how to trim and grind nails. Must be able to be on the ground with larger dogs, bend to accommodate smaller dogs, have the ability to lift 40lbs, and walk from car to house/apartment repeatedly throughout the day, including the ability to climb stairs daily. Comfortable using technology & the ability to learn our booking software. Benefits: First two weeks of training are paid at $16.50/hr. After completing training, pay raises to $19-$21/hr (based on experience) + tips. Tips are not guaranteed, but we’ve seen them range from $5 - $20/hr.
