Private Teacher/Caregiver for Special Needs Individual for Weekdays (Pismo Beach) Private Household I am seeking a dedicated and compassionate private teacher/caregiver to work in a home setting with a 25-year-old male with low-functioning special needs, who currently operates at a toddler developmental level. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on an individual's life while providing care and support. Key Responsibilities: • Implementing educational goals and strategies • Providing behavior therapy and teaching appropriate replacement behaviors • Able to give firm, clear directions while maintaining a calm and supportive presence • Assisting with therapy exercises and skill development • Teaching communication skills and everyday tasks • Engaging in interactive play and socialization • Assisting with personal care (dressing, toileting, bathing) • Preparing meals and assisting with feeding • Performing light housekeeping, including laundry and cooking • Driving to scheduled activities and appointments Qualifications: • Previous experience in caregiving, teaching, or behavior therapy is preferred • Familiarity with first aid and basic medical procedures is a plus • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges • Must be able to pass a Live Scan background check Desired Skills: • Enjoyment in teaching and working with individuals with special needs • Willingness to learn and apply ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy techniques • Reliable and hard-working with the ability to work independently • Strong organizational and housekeeping skills • Compassionate, with excellent communication skills • Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and empathy Job Details: • Hours: Monday through Friday, 2:30 to 9:00 p.m. (please do not apply if you are unavailable during these hours) • Seeking a caregiver with flexibility for occasional overnight shifts, earlier daytime hours, and as a backup for other caregivers as needed. • Pay Range: $33-35 • Expected Weekly Hours: 33 or more hours per week I am looking for a long-term commitment.
