Summary Under minimum supervision, operates and follows instructions to operate the machines in a safe and efficient manner. Monitor the operations of the machines and notify the supervisor if there are any problems. Visually inspect parts produced and determine if they meet quality standards. Complete documentation on defective parts. Essential Duties • Operator molding and other production machines in a safe and efficient manner, notifying the lead or supervisor if there are any problems. Some troubleshooting skills are required. • Visually inspect parts and determine if they meet the acceptable quality limits. Conduct quality checks using measuring equipment. • Package parts as specified to ensure proper and safe handling of the product. • Log all rejects on the Attribute Charts. • Review the operator inspection procedure before taking over any job. • Label all boxes after packaging to ensure proper handling of parts. • Ability to use basic measuring Equipment. • Degate and trim parts as required using secondary machinery to accomplish. • Ability to perform secondary operations such as gluing, welding, trimming, and some assembly. • Ability to use part count scale. Our company is looking to add an experienced Press Brake Operator familiar with large and small production runs on Amada and Cincinnati equipment. Must be able to work alone and in tandem with others Monday-Friday (we work four ten-hour days with OT on Fridays). Must be able to read prints/drawings and have a mastery of basic math as it applies to measurements to the thousandths of an inch (.001). Must be able to lift and do repetitive movements full time, 40+ hours a week. Must take pride in their work and understand the difference between aerospace tolerance and duct work (no dis-respect to the HVAC industry). Must have the capacity to use computer controls and make adjustments as necessary to maintain tolerance as tight as ±0.005in. Must have reliable transportation and maintain regular attendance. This person will have the opportunity to work on up to 10 different work orders every day, producing different parts from a variety of different gauge metals. Here’s what you’ll be doing: • Receive work orders with production instructions and work with our Tool & Die and Materials Teams to get the brake press and the work station ready for production. • Inspect the set-up and run quality tests on the brake press. • Run the Brake Press while monitoring quality, consistency, and compliance of the parts being produced. • Troubleshoot production issues and adjust the set-up to fulfill the requirements of the work order. • Log work order progress and provide information to Quality, as requested. • Remove the tool and reset the brake press set-up for the next work order. • Be flexible and versatile to fill-in in other areas to meet the needs of ever-changing bottlenecks. You’ll love this job if you have/are: • 5 – 10 years of experience in the metal manufacturing industry, preferably in a job shop environment • 5 – 8 years of experience operating a brake press, preferably an Amada • 3+ years of experience completing set-ups on brake presses, preferably an Amada • Committed to contributing to the team effort • Flexible and willing to assist the team in other areas when needed Position Details: • Work Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm or 4:30pm – 3:00am • Wage Range: $25 - $35 / hour 2nd Shift offers up to 10% shift differential.
