IEH Laboratories, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a Laboratory Analyst - 12hr Rotating Day Shift position at its facility in Scottsville, KY. Ideal candidates should possess the following: - A BS or BA in the biological sciences or related field (required) - Strong attention to detail - Proficiency with data entry and computer applications - Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory The Laboratory Analyst duties include: analysis of food samples for pathogens via PCR and immunoassay, various microbe enumerations, data entry, laboratory reporting, quality control, media preparation, and other duties as assigned. This is a full-time position on a 12 hour rotating shift basis from 6:00am to 6:00pm and is eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. The laboratory operates weekends, so candidates must be willing to work weekends. Due to exposure to various food allergens in the laboratory environment, applicants with moderate to severe food allergies are discouraged from applying. Laboratory Assistant (Phoenix)
EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Assistant in Phoenix, AZ. This is a support position for the laboratory manager and the analysts. It will oversee preparing, shipping, receiving, distributing, and logging in of samples. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS system Review paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctness Quality control of samples to ensure sample integrity Transfer samples based on priority to appropriate custody locations Coordinate and perform sample-related activities, including shipping and receiving, processing and administration Generate reports, invoices, and enter data produced by analysts into the computer system for the production of the final, client ready report Ensure the final report is prepared and that the results are reported to the client in a timely manner Assist with internal and external client questions via phone, e-mail, and in person Act as a liaison between clients and laboratory staff Prepare environmental samples prior to analysis Support all sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposal Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Some laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus Experience in administration, data entry, and customer service Proficient in MS Office Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clientele Ability to work in a high volume environment Ability to stand and sit for various lengths of time Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
