Afternoon Work with Fantastic Kids (Hueneme)
You’re going to love this job! We have a rare opportunity to help delightful Hueneme students in grades 1 – 8 with their homework. You’ll be helping the community while earning a good wage. That’s something to feel very good about! Tutors work as many days as possible within Monday through Thursday, from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. For example, if you can only work three of the four days, that’s fine as long as we know ahead of your start date. We plan to start November 1st. This program goes at least through the end of January but your position might be extended through the end of the 25/26 school year or beyond. We also have tutor positions at our center in Camarillo that begin as soon as we find the right people. Maybe you? For the Hueneme program, you’ll be assigned to work on school campuses or at our center, no going into homes and no searching endlessly for addresses and parking. At minimum, to apply, you have experience working with kids, are fluent in English speaking and writing, have reliable transportation, and have at least an elementary school level of math (which we’ll check). Because we work with children, you’ll need to pass a background check, Tuberculosis (TB) test, and obtain several child-related certificates with our guidance. Ideally, we’re hoping to find some bilingual – English/Spanish – speakers and some folks with higher math stills. That said, if you’re a great mentor and you meet the minimum requirements, we still encourage you to apply. Once we meet you, we’ll know if you have that certain “something,” the qualities to encourage young learners to do their best.
