Dish and kitchen prep person needed at Fuzzy Cactus in Brookland Park (Northside). Some line cook experience would be helpful but not 100% required. This position will be 3 days per week. Thursday, Friday, Saturday 4-10 pm. The ability to work independently is a plus. Must be able to follow simple food recipes for prep. We are a neighborhood restaurant and venue. Help sell locally sourced food outside at the farmers' market on weekend mornings. We are a heritage hog farm in western Goochland County who also vends hot food (breakfast sandwiches) at farm markets featuring the pork we raise [www.HogHavenFarm.com]. We need helpers at our market booths in Richmond at the Bryan Park Market on Saturday mornings and the South of the James Market on Sundays. **Need both cooks and 'front booth' salespeople, but currently looking more for someone comfortable in both roles, but mostly cooking.** May be required to work some Saturdays at the Fredericksburg location, driving the supplies there using our vehicle. Market shifts are a part-time weekend morning opportunity, $12.50 per hour to start, plus tips and bonuses ($25+/hr typical on a busy day). Worker discount also offered and 1 free sandwich per shift (there is a 3 shift training period, base pay only). **Some additional weekday hours available doing food prep. Preference given to candidates who are interested in this. Prep is 'base-only', but raises to base occur sooner for those that help in this area.** Ability to lift up to 50lbs and reliable transportation required. Markets start early and are rain or shine! So can't be afraid to get up on the weekend or to work outside on days when the weather is not so great. Please note that most days this is a bustling and very fast paced sales environment that is similar to working in a busy restaurant. We are interested only in people who enjoy this type of activity and understand the sense of urgency required when things get busy. We are also most interested in candidates that have a set schedule and would like a longer term, part-time, weekend position (not those that need full time and are only looking at this as a short-term fix).
