ShareCraig A. Smith & Associates is looking for Utility Locates Technicians. We are looking for people who are familiar with different types of EM (electromagnetic) equipment and have performed electromagnetic (EM) locates locating water, sewer, gas, electric, communications, for construction projects or 811 locate tickets. We are expanding our crew to take on new clients. Responsibilities: · Accurately locate and mark underground utility lines using industry-standard equipment (e.g. electromagnetic and ground-penetrating radar tools). · Must have knowledge of field equipment · Complete all locate requests in a timely and efficient manner in compliance with regulatory and safety standards. Records must be clear and concise. · Maintain detailed records of work completed, including daily logs, digital records, and sketches. · Represent the Company in the field to Clients and the Public in general, ensuring that work is performed to company standards and in a professional manner. · Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies, including personal protective equipment (PPE) use and safe driving practices. · Report any potential utility conflicts, damages, or abnormal conditions immediately to supervisors. REQUIREMENTS: Must be reliable. Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must be able to pass the background check and drug test. Must be Authorized to Work in the U.S. QUALIFICATIONS: -High school diploma or equivalent required. -3-5 yrs. previous experience in utility locating is required. -Familiarity with locating underground utilities. -Ability to read and interpret utility maps, construction drawings, and schematics. -Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills. -Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and performing physical tasks. Reports To: Supervisor of Utility Locates In person: 1425 East Newport Center Drive, Deerfield Beach, FL 33442. Location: Deerfield Beach office. Work is mostly outside in Broward and Palm Beach Counties.
