Starts hoisting device that raises waste bin attached to garbage truck at dump site. Must be physically fit to service backdoor customers or around the house collection. Essential Duties of Position: *Responsible for moving residential refuse and recyclables from curb to the garbage truck. Helpers will perform their duties in a safe manner at all times. *Refuse cans shall be positioned back on the customer’s property with lids properly replaced, in an upright position that does not block the driveway entrances, mailbox, or traffic. *The helper is responsible for ensuring that the collection areas are clean by picking up any refuse that has fallen out of the container or truck. *Following the direction of the driver who is in charge of the Helper while en route. *Required safety gear shall be worn at all times while maintaining a neat and professional appearance. Job Qualifications: *Must have a valid driver’s license *Must have reliable transportation to work *Must be able to work with others in a team environment. * Must be able to complete required physical labor for entire shift. *Must be able to quickly understand and adhere to safety requirements of the position. Physical Requirements: HEAVY: Ability to perform heavy physical demanding work. Physical effort may include lifting, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive bending/twisting motions. Clarity of vision to see near, mid-range. Ability to lift and carry up to 70lbs repeatedly throughout shift.
