Job description: Career Strategies is currently seeking skilled Apartment Maintenance Technicians to join our team in the Palm Desert, CA area and the surrounding cities for temporary and temp-to-hire opportunities, offering a flexible schedule and weekly pay. Position Overview: As an Apartment Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for keeping Apartment Communities in excellent condition. You’ll perform a variety of hands-on maintenance tasks, including: * Make Readies / Apartment Turns * Plumbing - sink/shower/toilet repair, replacing fixtures, unclogging drains (snaking when applicable) * Electrical - replacing fixtures and switches/outlets * Carpentry - patching holes, replacing doors/locks, hanging cabinetry, light touch-up painting * Appliances - help with installation of W&D, stoves (when applicable), installing garbage disposals, small repairs * Technician should be courteous to residents and provide realistic expectations for completed service requests/work orders Requirements: * At least 6 months Maintenance Experience in Residential, Apartments, Hotels or Private Homes * General knowledge of ALL aspects of maintenance repair, drywall repair plumbing, electrical, and all appliance care * Must have personal hand tools and drill - bring to site daily; do not leave at property * Must have reliable transportation * Must be willing to travel up to 15-25 miles a day * Ability to communicate well and work in a team/solo environment * High attention to detail * Clear communication and ability to follow directions * Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn * HVAC, EPA, CPO or CFC Certification a plus What We Offer: * Pay Range: $19–$23/hour (Depending on Experience and Community) * Weekly Pay – Reliable, on-time compensation * Flexible Scheduling Additional Information: * Equal Opportunity Employer Apply Today: If you meet the requirements and are ready to take the next step in your maintenance career, send us your resume. This is a full-time day shift position. Standard hours are Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm We are a fast-paced environment that requires a team player with a great work ethic. Position Responsibilities  Packing goods in shipping containers, handle mailing labels and shipping documents.  Ensure all orders have been filled with correct parts and quantity.  Count and inspect all incoming products and file paperwork.  Communicate with production and administrative staff.  Operate forklift to load product in trucks and unload tube and pipe.  Provide general support to visitors.  Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.  General housekeeping of work area.  Perform routine duties with minimal supervision after training.  Perform other duties as assigned, including operating manufacturing equipment. Position Requirements: A willingness to learn the trade and embrace on the job training. You must have a valid driver license. You must be available to work 40 hours per week, arrive on time and be actively engaged. You must be able to communicate if you are not able to report for work. The ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds. Proficient with a tape measure, calipers and other measuring devices. The ability to read and follow written instructions on production plan documents. The ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment. The ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors. The ability to read and understand manufacturing plans and prints or a willingness to learn. The ability to use a Windows based computer software for time keeping purposes. Must be willing to submit to a background check, pre-employment drug test. We are more interested in your future than your past.
