$997 / 4br - Seeking Awesome Housemates in Central Square (Central Square (Cambridge))

Hello! I’m seeking housemates (individuals, or potentially a couple) for three open bedrooms in a 4.5-bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment here in Central Square, starting November 1. You could also potentially start as early as October 25 or as late as December 1, if preferred. It would be excellent to find folks interested in enjoying some housemate community. In the past we’ve had great times planning the occasional potluck dinner or local adventure together. 🙂 If you’re interested, I’d look forward to hearing from you! What is your favorite color and why? 🤪 The Apartment: - Four bedrooms on two floors with two full bathrooms. - A sunny balcony. - A common area with an open floor plan, containing the kitchen, living room, and dining space. - An extra mini-bedroom for guests - Updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances (electric stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher). - Modern coin laundry located in the basement. - A parking spot for guests (or potentially for you to rent) The Location: - Central Square is 2 blocks away - 4-minute walk to the Red Line stop and 9-minute walk to Inman Square - Easy walking distance to BlueBikes (1 minute), Whole Foods (2 minutes), Target (5 minutes), shops/restaurants - 15-20 minute walk to Harvard or MIT Three rooms are available, with the rents listed below. The building had some pest control problems until last month, so the landlord is also offering a 10% discount on the first two months of rent. Rent would be somewhat higher for a couple. Room #1: - $997/month rent - Awesome natural light - Has direct access to an outdoor walkway that is shared with the other apartments on our floor. It’s kind of like a shared balcony. - Includes a closet. - A bed, mattress, desk, dresser, AC, chair and mirror are included, if you want them Room #2: - $1381/month rent - Spacious. The largest bedroom in the apartment. Potentially well-suited to a couple - Has its own balcony (shared only with the guest bedroom) - Lots of natural light - Wall-mounted AC - Two closets - Furniture available for purchase Room #3: - $997/month rent - A bit larger than room #1, but with less natural light - Includes a roomier, mirrored closet - Some furniture may be available for purchase - Includes a window-mount AC Parking: - The apartment also has an off-street parking spot that you could rent for an additional $200/month. Otherwise, it serves as a spot where our guests can park. Rent Details: - Electricity + Internet usually comes to about $50/person per month. - We each pay about $63/month for a cleaner who cleans the common spaces/bathrooms biweekly - First month rent, last month rent, and security deposit are required Me: - A mechanical engineer from NYC in my 30’s, working remotely for a non-profit. - Big fan of walking/biking around the city, ice skating in the winter, and tinkering with DIY projects. - I love to kayak in the Charles! I think it’s especially beautiful at sunset and after dark. I keep 5 portable kayaks just so I can bring friends along on group outings.
