Volunteer at St. Andrew's Food Distribution (palo alto)

Make a difference in the community! Food Distribution Program at St. Andrew's is a non-profit and volunteers supported organization. We are offering amazing volunteer opportunities for anyone who is SERIOUSLY interested in volunteering with us. DESCRIPTION Duration: every Friday in July - August (short term). Start date: immediately Volunteer hours: 1:30pm-4pm. Location: 4111 Alma St. Palo Alto, CA 94306. RESPONSIBILITIES - Assist with set up for distribution - Serve food items to clients - Move produce boxes to the tables - Flatten unused boxes for recycle - Assist with traffic in parking lots - Assist with clean up. - etc. REQUIREMENTS Due to the nature of our activities, you: - must be at least 18 years old. - are not an alcoholic, a drug user or a smoker. - are able to lift, carry and/or move heavy boxes of produce from pallets to the tables (short distance). - are able to help carry clients' heavy bags or boxes to their vehicle. - are able to stand and walk a lot during volunteer hours. - can commit to come weekly at 1:30pm-4pm. - are open to different roles or responsibilities. - are responsible for your own transportation. - will notify us if you cancel or are unable to come on the agreeable date or time. Safety vest, gloves, back support and water are provided. Free grocery for you (or your family) after your shift ends. You may volunteer until 6pm. Volunteering with us is about giving back to the communities, making a difference to a lot of people, making new friends and socializing all together. It is a valuable experience. HOW TO APPLY?
