Please note: This is a part-time, hybrid position (not a fixed schedule, probably more remote than in-person) with flexible hours between now and mid-to-late fall (end date depending on performance date tbd), around 10-12 weeks total with a break during the summer. There is a stipend of $1,000 rather than an hourly salary. Starts immediately. • This is a good opportunity for someone who has or would like experience in fundraising, marketing, publicity, and to augment their income. I will write an evaluation for school or a reference for employment for a job well done. • The ideal candidate has the following skills and qualities: - excellent English, both spoken and written - fundamental pc skills (Microsoft Word and Excel), graphic skills a plus (i.e. Canva) - creative researcher, enterprising, shows initiative - organized, focused, detail-oriented, responsible - resourceful and motivated - willing to pound the pavement (literally--flyering, for example) - can both work independently and take direction well - a people person, with a positive, enthusiastic attitude, and a pleasant demeanor - a love of classical music is not necessary, but a plus • I’m a composer working on a chamber music project featuring a piece about Edith Stein, a German Jewish philosopher who became a nun and was later murdered at Auschwitz. I'm passionate about the project, and genuine interest from you in some aspect of it will make a difference in your being able to contribute in a meaningful way. • Although it's being funded by the New York State Council on the Arts and Manhattan Arts Grants, the project could use more money, hence the fundraising component. • Your duties will be varied and include but not be limited to finding a presenting partner or free venue, identifying and contacting businesses and individuals about contributing money, developing free or very low-cost marketing and promotion to increase attendance, including using social media and doing other promotion, crafting and disseminating a crowdfunding campaign, getting media coverage before and at the event, creating and managing the performance website, ticket sales, and other general help. • The position will only require around 6-8 hours per week (depending on the workload); days and hours are somewhat flexible. It is available immediately and requires someone who plans to be in NYC or close (i.e. Jersey City/Hoboken) through the fall, other than going away for a few days. • Resumé schmesumé.
