Job Overview Brushes Art Studio 30 is a new art facility in Crown Point, just off of US 30 and Pine Island Drive. We are an extension of mobile paint party company, Brushes Paint and Sip Events of Northwest Indiana. We just opened and are excited to announce we are expanding our team. We are seeking an artist proficient in painting with acrylic paint on canvas. Our ideal candidate will have exceptional talent in both painting and instructing a group of people. If you are not shy and feel comfortable speaking in front of a group of people, we want to meet you. This is a 1099 contractor position and pays $20.00 to $25.00 per hour. You will be scheduled based on your availability and desired workload. Four to ten hours per week is average. 10 to 20 hours per week is a good possibility. You will be paid to shadow our other artists as part of your training. This is a great and easy 2nd job opportunity, or if you are in a position where you don't need to work, but you want to because you love to paint! Responsibilities Teach a group of attendees step-by-step instructions on how to paint a particular painting. Be at the studio one hour before the start of an event for light prep-work. Deliver your instruction with confidence and clarity. Provide excellent customer service and be patient with our clients. After the event, stick around as many as 30 minutes to help clean up studio. Qualifications Ability to show you can paint a pre-determined and pre-traced canvas, using acrylic paint. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues. At times, you may be asked to instruct children. A nurturing attitude towards children, demonstrating patience and understanding of their individual needs is a plus. You will work closely with the artist and studio team to bring ideas to life—from material sourcing to fabrication, from studio organization to on-site execution.
