Bar Security position at Prohibition Charleston (Charleston)
We're seeking a reliable, professional, and vigilant Security Officer to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all guests and staff. Your primary role will be crowd management, ID checks, and ensuring compliance with bar regulations—especially during our bustling late-night hours.
Key Responsibilities:
-Serve as the first line of defense at entry points: perform ID checks to verify age, enforce guest lists, and manage occupancy.
-Monitor crowd behavior, intervene calmly in disturbances, and coordinate with management or authorities as needed.
-Support smooth transitions during service changes and special events (e.g., live music, DJs, bottle service).
-Enforce door policy and venue rules consistently and professionally.
-Assist with emergency protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:
-South Carolina SLED-registered Security Officer.
-Must be 18+, U.S. citizen, of good moral character, no felony convictions,
-Strong interpersonal communication, conflict de-escalation skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
-Retail, nightlife, or hospitality experience, especially in crowd-heavy or late-night settings.
Familiarity with SC laws concerning use of reasonable force, arrest authority (on-property), and handling intoxicated individuals

Schedule & Working Conditions:
-Primarily evening to late-night shifts, particularly Thurs–Sat, aligning with peak hours for events and entertainment.
-Requires standing for extended periods, vigilant attention, and rapid response when situations arise.
