Icelandics are a heritage breed that does well on pasture and hay. They are sheared twice a year, and their fleeces go for $15-25 per pound. Sheep are flock animals and need to have a buddy to hang around with all the time. Cheviots have better parasite resistance as lambs than purebred Icelandics. Very nice fleeces. I have sold Icey Cheviot fleeces for $20 per pound. The rams would make excellent flock sires or fiber sheep. Cheviots bring more muscling to the Icelandic side. Drew is a proven 2 year old.. He is an Icey Cheviot with excellent parasite resistance thus far. He is looking for greener pastures and more lady friends. He is only being sold to a breeding farm that will take care of him. He had a very good disposition. The last picture is with his father, a purebred Cheviot.
