Professional Organizers Needed JMPO Organizing and Move Management Do you love to organize your home, and find yourself helping friends and family organize their spaces? Do you enjoy watching shows like Clutterbug/Hotmess House and The Home Edit, and reading books on organizing? If YES - JMPO Organizing and Move Management is looking for great employees. We are an estate and home organizing company serving seniors, overwhelmed families and deep clutter situations, as well as estate sorting and clear-outs. JMPO also works with seniors and senior communities, guiding our clients move to their new homes. JMPO assists with downsizing, packing, unpacking and setting up their new home, overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the move. We have positions open for a Staff Organizer I in Santa Clara County. People who can work in the Santa Clara & Alameda Counties will be a priority. JOB DESCRIPTION: Staff Organizer I (Hourly) Staff Organizer I is responsible for working on various residential organizing projects. You may assist clients in reaching realistic goals, establishing systems and processes, and guiding them with ongoing maintenance that fits their individual needs. Some projects involve working with a team, such as estate clearouts, estate auctions, or packing and unpacking. The employee will assist with or conduct hands-on work to the extent requested by the client and directed by the team lead. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include: - Sort and organize documents, set up filing systems - Organization before and after packing and moving - Consulting on how and why to eliminate clutter, making recommendations using the client’s best interests, and personal choices - Modeling processes, systems, procedures or habits for client learning - Respect for client’s individual habits, abilities, emotional state and preferences - Moving trash and recycling out of the house - Recording client notes and progress to share with JMPO - Timely communication back to company manager and other project staff on project activity, needs and scheduling - Follow NAPO Code of Ethics, in particular to uphold client confidentiality. Information may only be shared within the company and with on-site staff as needed for the execution of the project - Accurate time logging, including taking breaks as required by state law -Exceptional integrity on the job and in communications, showing respect and declining any personal gains from clients’ goods QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS - Must be able to work 30-40 hours per week. - Staff Organizers must have the ability to categorize items and paper content, manage time well, and have excellent problem-solving skills. They are self-starters and show initiative. Must be familiar with and be able to employ organizing solutions and products for the home and business. - JMPO employees are expected to be empathetic and emotionally tolerant of clients who may be under stress or anxious about the organizing process. Many JMPO clients can be characterized as Chronically Disorganized. - Our clients may have a variety of physical or mental conditions that contribute to clutter, and may be sensitive to critical comments, tone or body language. Staff members must make every effort to be patient, non-judgemental and remain professional at all times while on duty. - Employees must be able to effectively work with team members. At times, one Organizer will be asked to lead a project and direct the work of others in the interest of client budget, resources or stress. - All JMPO employees must be able to communicate, (verbal and written,) effectively with others in the English language and with professionally appropriate content. - The Staff Organizer I is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, sit, and use hands. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, hold items and balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. Employees must be able to climb stairs and use a multi-step stool. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Must be comfortable working in households where pets are present. (Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions) - Employees must be proficient in using personal computers and smart mobile phones. Employees are comfortable using apps like Google Drive and Google calendar. Knowledge of Asana is a plus. - This position works in residential and storage environments, which can include garages, storage sheds and off-site storage units. JMPO works in environments that can range from extremely clean to squalid, which could require levels of personal protective equipment (PPE). COMPENSATION - Wages for this position are starting $22 - $35 per hour. Dependent on applicant’s experience, education, and skill-set. Wage will increase after the 30 day probation period. Sick leave of one hour per every 30 hours worked is provided in compliance with California state law. SIMPLE IRA participation is offered to qualifying employees working for a year. Reimbursement for mileage over and above 25 miles from home base is available. Reimbursement for bridge tolls is available. Reimbursement for cell phone data use is provided. No other benefits are currently offered for this position.
