Patriot Steel Fabrication, Inc., located in Cambridge, MD, is a full-service structural and miscellaneous steel fabricator with a 60,000SF fabrication facility. We utilize the latest CNC equipment and cutting-edge software to streamline our processes and deliver high-quality steel products. We are currently seeking a motivated CAD Operator / Estimator to join our team as we expand our in-house detailing capabilities. Position Overview: The CAD Operator / Estimator will support our steel fabrication business through in-house detailing and Esti-modeling using Tekla Structures. This role is well-suited for recent graduates in architecture, engineering, or related fields with 3D modeling experience, as well as those with prior experience seeking to expand their skills in the steel fabrication industry. This position presents a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of establishing a new detailing department within our company, with the potential for the right candidate to take on a leadership role as the department grows and our capabilities expand. Responsibilities: Create accurate 3D models and detailed drawings for minor structural steel, stairs, and railings using Tekla Structures (experience with Tekla preferred but not required). Assist with Esti-modeling to streamline estimating processes. Refine and optimize the estimating module in Tekla PowerFab to improve accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with external detailers and estimators to optimize project workflows. Read and interpret structural and architectural drawings. Perform minor field measurements as needed to ensure drawing accuracy. Maintain drawing control for each project. Qualifications: Experience with 3D modeling software (Tekla Structures experience preferred, but not required). Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings. Strong organizational and communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a plus. If interested, please email resume along with a brief introduction.
