Event Lighting Technician – Brilliant Event Lighting Location: Oceanside, California Employment Type: Part-Time / On-Call (Event-Based) Compensation: Competitive Hourly or Day Rate (Based on Experience) About Us: Brilliant Event Lighting is a luxury event lighting and AV company specializing in high-end weddings, corporate events, and large-scale installations across Southern California. From elegant chandeliers to immersive lighting environments, we pride ourselves on delivering stunning, flawless productions for our clients. Position Overview: We are seeking experienced Event Lighting Technicians to join our on-site crew. This role involves working hands-on to set up and strike lighting systems for events, including building truss structures, running DMX and Edison power, and installing lighting fixtures. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and passionate about live event production. Responsibilities: Build and dismantle truss structures for lighting installations. Run DMX data cable and Edison power cable according to event layouts. Install, hang, and focus lighting fixtures (including chandeliers, uplights, and intelligent fixtures). Test, troubleshoot, and maintain lighting equipment on-site. Assist in loading/unloading trucks and organizing gear before/after events. Follow safety protocols and maintain a professional demeanor with clients and venues. Qualifications: Prior experience in event lighting, stage lighting, or live production required. Working knowledge of DMX and power distribution. Comfortable working at height (ladders, lifts) and lifting 50+ lbs. Familiarity with truss systems and rigging safety (Genie lifts, spansets, shackles). Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills: Experience with Chauvet, ADJ, Global Truss, Basic electrical knowledge.
