Hydraquip’s rotational internship program consists of the following areas: Service & Repair: Hands-on experience with pump teardowns, conversions, and assemblies. Learn how hydraulic components function and use the test stand. Clean all parts using solvents and other chemicals as directed in a safe manner. Engineering: Work on assigned summer projects around warehouse efficiency, integrated system design, automation projects and/or cost reduction initiatives. Production Hands-on experience with conversions and custom assemblies for customers. Working with machining equipment to build custom components. Assist with tasks in the production facility as required. Inside Sales: Learn about company processes for quoting, managing orders & delivery. Communicate with customers via phone & email, and build relationships with vendors to gather necessary product information. Develop and employ a high level of product and application knowledge. Communicate with top customers via phone & email. Outside Sales: Shadow outside sales representatives for customer visits. Experience with customer applications as well as how field relationships are established and maintained. Shipping & Receiving: See how the warehouse runs firsthand while helping with inventory controls, order picking, packing, and shipping as well as familiarity with our products Requirements Education: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program Prefer GPA of 3.0 or higher. Prefer junior or senior but will consider other class levels. Knowledge and Skills: Ability to work independently and eager to take on responsibilities. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Strong organizational and time management skills. Analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking skills. Strong work ethic. Excellent oral, written, and communication skills. Detail-oriented. This is a solid local driving opportunity with a Monday–Friday schedule and the unique chance to become a worker-owner with one of Boston’s leading sustainable W/MBE businesses. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and experienced in commercial truck operation. Compensation & Schedule Starting Pay: $28/hour After 6 Months: Increase to $30/hour Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM Hours: 35–40 hours per week Pay Frequency: Biweekly Worker-Ownership: Eligible after initial period Responsibilities Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections (fluids, tires, safety equipment, etc.) Follow designated routes using the routing app or as assigned by the operations manager Safely operate a garbage truck to collect source-separated organic waste Load and unload totes and containers (must be able to lift/push/pull over 100 lbs) Operate hydraulic hand controls for lifting and disposal at designated facilities Maintain a courteous, professional demeanor with customers Adhere to company policies and all local, state, and federal driving laws Complete route logs and other reports as required Perform preventative maintenance and report issues promptly Qualifications Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of commercial driving experience Familiarity with GPS, routing apps, and service logs Clean driving record and understanding of DOT regulations Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Basic mechanical knowledge for inspections and troubleshooting Waste collection experience is a plus, but not required.
