HANDYMAN OPENING FOR PRIVATE OWNER IN STANWOOD This position is essential in maintaining both the functionality and aesthetics of the property, requiring a diverse range of skills and responsibilities. The versatility of the individual in this role makes them an invaluable asset to the owner of the acreage and its multiple buildings. DUTIES WOULD INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: General Maintenance: Responsible for routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs to keep properties in good condition. Plumbing Repairs: They handle basic plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and installing fixtures. Electrical Work: May perform minor electrical repairs, such as replacing light fixtures outlets, and switches, ensuring that electrical systems are safe and functional. Carpentry: Often you may engage in carpentry work, which includes repairing or building furniture, installing shelves, and fixing doors and windows. Painting and Drywall: Painting and drywall repair, including patching holes, smoothing surfaces, and applying fresh coats of paint to enhance the appearance of spaces. Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of appliances and equipment, ensuring everything operates efficiently and safely. Outdoor Maintenance: Be responsible for maintaining outdoor areas, including landscaping, tree maintenance, cleaning gutters and ensuring that walkways and driveways are safe. Use of small equipment such as Tractor, Mower, Chainsaw, Skill Saw etc. Emergency Repairs: Respond to urgent repair requests, addressing issues that may pose safety hazards or disrupt normal operations. SKILLS REQUIRED • Technical Knowledge: Should have a basic understanding of plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry. • Problem Solving Skills: Must be able to diagnose issues and determine the best course of action for repairs. • Physical Stamina: The job often requires physical labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environments. • Communication Skills: Need to communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on repairs. Job Summary: The IPM Assistant will play a critical role in maintaining plant health through scouting, foliar sprays, root drenches and other IPM-related tasks. This role requires someone with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the ability to perform repetitive physical tasks safely and efficiently. Schedule: M-F 8am-4:30pm, includes holidays as needed unless PTO is approved. Key Responsibilities: Scout plants for signs of stress, pests and disease. Apply foliar sprays and root drenches accurately and safely. Wear full PPE for extended periods while performing tasks. Perform tasks at varying heights, including standing, bending and kneeling. Lift and move up to 50 lbs. safely. Participate in lift training and follow all safety protocols. Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a collaborative team environment. Qualifications: Previous experience in agriculture, horticulture, or cannabis cultivation preferred but not required. Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks for long periods of time.
