A brief overview: This position will oversee the kitchen and provide assistance to the Site Manager at a busy Meals on Wheels site located at the Vic-Geary center in Plaistow NH. Your day will start off with a delivery of food from our caterer. Everything is already cooked and prepared when it arrives at the site, you and your team will package everything up and get it ready to deliver. Then the meal delivery drivers pack their bags and head out to deliver meals. You and the volunteers clean up and get things ready for the next day and to serve lunch to clients at the center around 11:30 AM. Responsibilities at the site include packing meals for the homebound, cleaning-up kitchen, assisting the manager and supervising volunteers. Knowledge of proper sanitation procedures a plus. This position will be the manager's right-hand person and support the manager with everyday issues as well as able to fill in during short-term absence. This position also requires the kitchen assistant to fill in for meal drivers and when needed. Mileage reimbursement is .70 cents a mile. Some physical requirements are listed here but not limited to; ability to lift up to approximately 35 pounds, push or pull carts. Ability to bend, kneel or twist while working in the kitchen. You may also be on your feet for 1 to 2 hours at a time. When filling in for a driver, you will be doing a mix of driving and walking in and out of homes, you will enter and exit a vehicle multiple times, and may have to navigate stairs during delivery. A meal delivery route is approximately 2 hours. Approx. 25-30 hours per week from approx. 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday-Friday. 11 paid holidays off per year. Paid time off for vacation/sick day (accrued). Annual longevity bonuses. Skills and Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age or over with a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle and a good driving record. Must have a good driving record. Comfortable using a computer.

Meals on Wheels of Rockingham County is currently accepting applications for a meal delivery driver in our Plaistow, NH location. Work schedule is Monday - Friday approximately 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. Physical aspects to the job - Ability to lift approximately 35 pounds, ability to bend, twist and reach, enter and exit a vehicle multiple times in a shift, and navigate stairs during daily shift. Drivers will also have to stand for 30+ minutes while they pack their bags or help with packaging up meals for the day. Delivery routes are approximately 2 ½ hours long. When you return from your route, you will clean out you bags and get ready for the next day. A typical shift is 3.5 to 4 hours long. You must have a valid drivers license, a good driving record and a reliable vehicle.
