Position Summary: As a Senior Network Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of designing, deploying, and sustaining mission-critical network infrastructure that powers our high-performance manufacturing operations. This role demands deep technical expertise in routing, switching, and advanced network technologies—including VPNs, firewalls, wireless systems, and load balancers. You’ll lead complex implementation projects, troubleshoot escalated issues, and ensure the resilience and scalability of our network environment. Beyond technical execution, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor and mentor within the team, driving operational excellence through documentation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement. Your ability to communicate clearly, collaborate cross-functionally, and take ownership will be key to your success. This is a hands-on, onsite role based within one hour of Taylor, TX, with occasional project work at our Samsung Austin Semiconductor site. Responsibilities: Design and Architect Enterprise Networks: Lead the planning and implementation of scalable, secure network infrastructures using Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms, tailored to support high-demand environments. Manage Advanced Routing & Switching Protocols: Configure and optimize complex routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and EVPN, ensuring efficient traffic flow and high availability across global sites. Implement and Maintain F5 Load Balancing Solutions: Deploy and manage F5 appliances, including custom iRules scripting, to ensure application resilience, performance, and intelligent traffic distribution. Troubleshoot Critical Network Issues: Serve as the escalation point for diagnosing and resolving L2/L3 connectivity problems, hardware failures, and VPN-related disruptions across enterprise systems. Secure Network Infrastructure: Enforce robust security practices using technologies like IPSec, 802.1x, TACACS+, and firewalls, while maintaining compliance with internal and external standards. Support Multicast and Manufacturing-Specific Protocols: Configure and maintain multicast technologies including PIM, MSDP, and Anycast-RP to support real-time data delivery in manufacturing environments. Lead Network Upgrades and Migrations: Drive hardware/software refreshes, network expansions, and migration projects with minimal downtime and maximum operational continuity. Collaborate Across Teams and Vendors: Interface with cross-functional teams, ISPs, and hardware vendors to coordinate maintenance windows, resolve escalations, and manage RMA processes. Document and Standardize Network Operations: Maintain detailed network diagrams, configuration records, and SOPs to support audit readiness and streamline troubleshooting. Mentor and Develop Team Talent: Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and operational excellence. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 10+ years of hands-on experience in large-scale, enterprise-class network operations, including planning, design, implementation, and support, with a focus on Cisco devices (Catalyst, Nexus), Firewalls, and Load Balancers. CCNP Enterprise or CCIE certification (current or expired within the last 3 years). 3+ years of experience with F5 Load Balancing setups, including iRules. Extensive experience with routing protocols and network technologies . Proficiency in troubleshooting complex network issues, including hardware, L3/L2 problems, application connectivity, and P2P VPN connections. Experience with PIM, MSDP, Anycast-RP, and Multicast in a manufacturing environment. Strong customer focus, a sense of ownership, urgency, responsibility for network documentation, and a passion for mentoring team members. Must reside within a 1-hour drive of Taylor, TX. Willing and able to commute to the office 5 days per week. Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting networks in large manufacturing environments, particularly within a 24/7 operational context. Expertise in high availability network environments. Strong background in server network connectivity (Teaming, VPC, LACP). Experience with Packet Capture Analysis, SSL certificates. F5 Load Balancers or Palo Alto Firewalls certification, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience. Familiarity with Unix/Linux and scripting in Python, Ansible, or other automation tools is a plus.
