Description

Robert Half is seeking a CAD Manager for 3-month contract to hire position. Requirements / Must-Haves: • Experience in a consulting environment and working directly with clients. • Polished, professional communicator who collaborates effectively across teams (non-field role). • 7+ years of CAD experience in the ACE (Architecture, Construction, Engineering) industry. • Civil engineering background required; geotechnical engineering experience strongly preferred. • Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D, including dynamic design elements (e.g., surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors). • Experience managing at least one direct report; potential to grow into managing up to three. • Must support Seattle office exclusively—some project overlap expected. • Comfortable working alongside an experienced CAD drafter (10+ years in role). • Able to take on ad hoc project work and shift priorities as needed. • Quick to adapt and learn proprietary CAD systems; tech-savvy mindset is a plus. • Experience in architecture or construction is a strong advantage. Tools: • Autodesk and AutoCAD (strongly preferred) • Bentley (used occasionally; more complex to learn) • AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred) • Experience with adaptive AutoCAD versions is a plus Day-to-Day: • Respond to ad hoc projects as they come in and support through assessments. • Handle a high-volume workload—must be able to pivot between tasks and prioritize multiple projects efficiently. • Collaborate closely with another CAD professional to stay organized. • Ideal candidates are passionate about their work, naturally curious, and driven to find creative solutions. • This is not a heads-down role—it requires regular collaboration and cross-functional communication with engineers and technical staff (many of whom hold advanced degrees). • Strong interpersonal skills are essential to help connect and coordinate across teams.
