We are looking for 2 CAREGIVERS for a 23-year old man with disability, severe cerebral palsy, intellectual disability, and exhibiting extremely difficult behaviors and aggression on a sporadic basis. Client is high risk. Both caregivers will be required to assist with transfer and transport to prevent falls and safety hazards. Services are needed on a 24/7 basis in his home and in the community for all activities. Client lives in a lovely family neighborhood, but needs significant supervision, behavior management and support for all tasks throughout the week. CLIENT SPECIAL NEEDS: Client is severely disabled, mostly nonverbal, requiring professional assistance in all of the following areas on a 24/7 basis:  Assistance and supervision to stay safe and away from harm at all times;  Takes medication to modulate behaviors both during the morning, noon and night shifts;  Assistance needed at all times to change heavily soiled clothing, toileting, bathing, eating, and performing basic grooming tasks such as brushing teeth, shaving, dressing, and oiling/massaging skin to prevent skin breakage, and bed/wheelchair repositioning every 2-3 hours;  Client participates in walks, physical exercise, excursion to malls, concerts, grocery store, outings such as swimming, skating, bowling, movies, restaurants, sporting events, park and planning activities (Sports and Learning Complex), active church member, volunteering in the community to feed/cloth the homeless and engages in games and electronics; JOB SUMMARY AND DUTIES:  Client requires professional assistance in staying safe when he becomes sporadically agitated, and may lash out with hitting, kicking, head banging or grabbing, in order to self-calm;  Caregivers assist client in practicing self-care tasks such as teeth brushing, hair combing, and staying on task to practice skills throughout the day.  Caregivers must be able to accompany client to the park, involving walking up to 2 miles per day at the park and to / from the playground where Client visits regularly;  Caregivers must be able to help client remain clean, dry and safe throughout the day during many activities, frequent hand and face washing, clothes changing assistance when needed, prepare meals and clean up and keeping client from handling dangerous items in the kitchen (stove, knives, etc.) or breaking things he encounters. CAREGIVER MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS & ABILITIES AND DOCUMENTED TRAINING & EXPERIENCE IN PROVIDING:  First Aid Certification  CMT Certification  Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification;  Possess a clean driving record;  Be able to pass a background investigation;  Possess not less than 7 years full-time experience with working with adults with developmental disabilities that exhibit extreme or difficult behaviors  Possess not less than 7 years full-time experience working with disabled adults in their home setting and in the community in which they live;  Have a strong physical strength, in order to manage the physical needs of the client, who is a full-grown man, 5’3” tall and 130 pounds, and comply with the behavior plan in terms of managing behaviors;  Must have car. Training will start on: -Saturday 10/4 at 8 AM The substitute caregiver is needed to care for a 60 year-old paralyzed man, while his regular caregiver is on vacation. IMPORTANT: Please note that although this job is labeled as "Full-Time" – if you're an experienced caregiver, then there will be a LOT of downtime. However, you would need to assist the patient whenever needed. The substitute caregiver must be strong enough to move the patient from one side of the bed to the other, in order to prevent pressure sores on the patient's skin. I've had many caregivers who were only a fraction of my weight, and they were able to easily move me from one side of the bed to the other – as long as they used correct nursing methods. During the day, the patient needs to be turned approximately 2-4 times. Overnight, the patient usually sleeps all night with no rotations. Patient has a quiet and easy-going personality. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide full-time, live-in caregiving. A Registered Nurse (RN) will visit 3 times per week to manage medications and some toileting. The caregiver must be strong enough and able to turn the patient in bed in order to to prevent the patient from getting pressure sores. The patient has an ostomy for urine. The urine drains into a 2 liter (2L) bag on the side of the bed. You must empty this bag at least 2-3 times a day. A Registered Nurse (RN) usually changes the patient's urinary ostomy appliance. However, you must be able to change the ostomy appliance by yourself if needed. You will be trained on how to do this. The patient can also help provide some limited instructions to you on how to do this. The patient eats about 2-3 times per day and occasionally 1-2 snacks. The foods are in the refrigerator, freezer, or kitchen cabinets. If needed, the foods can be easily microwaved. Measures angular dimensions, radii, height, thickness, location, thread lead, and other specifications. Computes angles, radii, and other unspecified dimensions of work piece by using sine bars. Measures surface finish of parts. Inspects first run parts and assemblies. Examines material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete welds. Tests units for fit of moving parts and mechanical functioning. Tests parts for hardness. Compares product with parts list or sample model to ensure completion of assembly. Rejects defective parts, and marks type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspection tag. Writes reports regarding inspection and testing results. Manually operates and sets up Mitutoyo CMM’s and FARO Arm. Supports inspection duties, quality objectives, and the Quality Management System. Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications. Assists in other areas in support of product conformity. Facilitates effective communications and working relationships (including answering department phone).
